New Deluxe “Baja Team” Kit

If you were ever wow’d by the regalia worn by our very own racers, you can now cop one while we have them. You won’t be disappointed by our newest launch – the Deluxe “Baja Team” Kit. They are now available here in-store, as well as on our webstore (links below).
We have sizes S-thru-XL in a Short-Sleeve Jersey, Long-Sleeve Jersey, and Bib Short.

It was a no-brainer choosing Endo Customs to manufacture this kit. Endo Customs have constantly impressed us with their highest level of quality in materials and work ethic. They are a small crew based out of Downtown Los Angeles and have exceeded our already highly rigid expectations, again and again. We have 100% confidence in Endo’s products after using the Deluxe track and road teams as our guinea pigs. Stressing and pushing the limits of the fabric to it’s threshold.

The construction of each piece of this kit are undeniably well crafted with the ideals of racers in mind.  The kit pieces were developed for comfort as much as they were for performance. The Short-Sleeve, Long-Sleeve Jerseys, as well as the Bib are lightweight, breathable, wear in well, and are true to race-fit sizing.

The jerseys are of a race fit, made of Italian engineered fabrics, and have a full-length reversible Endo “e” YKK zipper, and 3 rear pockets. The pockets they are modestly sized to fit a pouch, jacket and your food without feeling stretched or loose. The height of them makes them easy to get into on the bike and off the bike without snag. The

bottom hem of the jersey has a generous strip of Italian silicone elastic – Endo Gel-Fast Elastic to help keep the jersey down and in place.  The jersey fuses a finessed look and performance.  Their signature race cut jersey is constructed of lightweight supple fabrics that provide premium comfort while resting snug against the body.  It also includes mesh panels in the under arm area contribute to the enhanced air flow and breathability.

The bib is built with the highest quality highly abrasion-resistant Italian fabric with high compression technology. The chamois stitched with  Cytech’s EIT Road Performance. It’s a high quality pad designed for comfort on longer rides – cushy and breathable, also found on other high end bibs. The extended race cut leg bands are laser cut with integrated grip, so the bib doesn’t shift when you get out of the saddle to put in a powerful effort. It also features material rated for 50+SPF/UPF sun protection. It is also worth noting that this chamois has a center channel for perineal comfort and variable thickness to provide the right support for right areas and breathability for the others. The chamois is molded into a 3D shape to help minimize any rubbing in the wrong places.

Bottom line, the Deluxe Team kit by Endo Customs are a high quality comfortable kit catered to both club riders and those wishing to race in style. They are the marriage of both function and fashion.

Well crafted, with choice taste, bonded by a flowing graphic design.

Race Report: Something Wicked – Six Hours of Cathedral Pines MTB Race

The day started early.

After a rough night of sleep, Wilis and Amir – along with newest addition to the Deluxe team, Richard, girlfriend, Sidnee, and lovely dame, Rosie the French Bulldog, all embarked on a cold, damp, muddy trip.

Standing tall, Rosie in all of her glory!

Deluxe closed shop doors for the day to attend a quite gnarly mountain bike race over at the Cathedral Pines trail system, located a hour and a half drive from Brooklyn, out deep in Long Island, NY.

The 6 hour event, hosted by organizers Something Wicked, consisted of a 10 mile loop that was very fast, serpentine, tight, hard-packed single track, with minimal elevation change. The organizers offered the event in several catagories: Solo (in A, B, and C categories, both for Male and Female), Duo Relay4-Person RelaySinglespeed, and Fat Bike. The event sold out at the 300 person cap.

A mass start race of 300 people was a little cramped. Despite having been almost crashed out twice at the prologue, Amir moved up to a decent position.
#1 in our hearts.

For us, Duo Relay was the name of the game and not bonking out was our claim to fame. We went into the race with a chill mentality: just have fun and make it out alive. On that day, Richard blessed us with his mechanical prowess, tended to the field with neutral support. Sidnee and Rosie provided us with good vibes and kindred spirits.

We busted out our signature weapons. Wilis undusted his No22 Old King, built up with a Carbon Lefty, Enve wheels, full Thomson cockpit, complete with Ti Thomson straight bars, and a SRAM XX1 groupset.

Singletrack trails are a commonplace for Wilis so he is all too familiar with races similar to this one. A few months ago, he and a few friends rode D2R2, a 180K gravel ride thats loops through the Green Mountain range in the Appalachians. At the end of the day, Wilis is a seasoned Cat 1 XC racer, and although he won’t admit it, can shred on the trails with one arm and his eyes closed.

“Spicy!”
“My body is telling me no. My my mind, my mind, is telling me yes~”

Amir on the other hand… He’s quite new. He had participated in a handful of track and cross races this past season but had never raced a MTB race before! However, he frequents local trails and is slowly learning the Art of Sending It.

Amir rode his freshly built Ritchey P-29, accompanied by a Rockshox SID fork, KS LEV dropper post, mismatched Mavic/Enve wheels, Deluxe Ti Integrated Bar/Stem combo, and the new 12-speed  SRAM XX1 Eagle.

All went swell with the race, and at the end of it all, the Deluxe boys took home 7th place in the Duo Relay event. Lots of fun was had. Chili and cold pizza was served at the end for the racers and we shortly after embarked on our trek back to the city. See more of the experience below.

GAME FACE! Amir chasing the wheel of a highschool kid twice as strong as he ever could be.

Spring Track day at T-Town

Jesse and Wilis raced track over at T-Town in PA. Aside from the blistering heat, it was a blast. We ran into our buddy AJ over at Harvest Cyclery and got to race with him. There were so many masters they had to split them into separate groups.. It was great getting to see some 30+ years of experience on the track. See ya next week T-Town!
